What Is a Preorder and How Does It Work on Complex?

We’re excited to offer preorder access to exclusive and limited-edition drops. Preorders allow you to reserve highly anticipated items before they officially release. Here’s everything you need to know before placing a preorder.


🔍 What Is a Preorder?

A preorder means you are purchasing an item that is not yet available to ship. These items will ship at a later date, once they are produced or become available from the seller.


📅 When Will My Preorder Ship?

We display estimated shipping timelines clearly throughout your shopping journey:

Estimated Ship Date What You’ll See
Less than 14 days No preorder message (ships soon)
14–30 days “Preorder” message displayed
Over 30 days “Preorder with Long Shipping” message

🛒 How Can I Tell If a Product Is a Preorder?

Products tagged as preorder will be clearly marked:

  • On the Product Listing Page (PLP) with labels like “Ships in X days” or “Preorder: Long Shipping Time”

  • On the Product Page (PDP) with a “Preorder” badge and estimated ship window

  • On the Add to Cart popup and Cart view

 

You'll see these messages on:

  • The product page (PDP)

    • You should see a PREORDER tag on the product: 

    • There should be a message similar to "Ships in 30 days" near the Add-To-Cart Button

    • The Add to Cart button changes to PREORDER

  • Cart and checkout screens:

    • If any Preorder items are in the cart there will be a message at the top of the shopping cart

    • Preorder items will be clearly identified

  • Order confirmation emails

    • Orders with Preorder items will be clearly marked in the order confirmation email


✅ Do I Need to Confirm Anything at Checkout?

Yes. To avoid confusion, we ask for your confirmation:

“I understand this order contains Preorders.”

You must check this box during checkout before completing your purchase. This ensures you understand the delay associated with preorder items.


✉️ Will I Get a Confirmation?

Yes. Your order confirmation email will indicate if any item is a preorder and include the estimated ship date.

When your item is ready to ship you will get another email with tracking information and the estimated delivery date. 


🔄 Can I Cancel or Return a Preorder?

Policies vary by seller. In general:

  • You can cancel before the item ships if the seller allows it.

  • Once shipped, standard return policies apply (see Updated Return Policy)

  • Limited or digital preorder items may be final sale

Please check the product page for return eligibility.


📦 Can I Order In-Stock Items with a Preorder?

Yes, but please note, in most cases:

  • In-stock items ship first

  • Preorders ship separately when ready

Additional shipping fees may apply.


🧾 Where Can I Track My Preorder?

Track your order via:

  • Your account under Order History

  • Email updates when your preorder ships
